About Orlando Trip

ORLANDO TRIP is a cinematic music show about the mythical character Orlando. And a tribute to the great European minds Ludovico Ariosto and Virginia Woolf.

Orlando, a knight and traveller, crosses the seas several times and finally returns as a woman. His/her story is performed in 12 songs, intermezzi and videos.

ORLANDO TRIP is simultaneously a spoken performance, a concert and a rush of images. Fox On Ice creates the suggestion of an effortless transition between stage and film, humans and landscape, man and woman. It is the suggestion of a departure, a journey of discovery into an unknown land. In this sequence of transformations, a poetic ego liquefies, celebrating the dual gender of the soul and promising one thing above all: freedom.

ORLANDO TRIP has been invited at international theatres and festivals in Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Romania, Greece, Slovenia, Israel, Sri Lanka, Tunesia, Bulgaria, Italy and Austria.

A (Mediterranean) sea story – a triumph of the unconscious and fluidity – that will delight cineastes, music lovers and literature enthusiasts alike.

Artistic Research

Guided by the artistic and academic vision of Anna Luca Krassnigg, Full Professor of Directing in Vienna, our music theatre productions are deeply rooted in literary and academic research. Each work is developed with a strong focus on cultural dialogue and exchange, particularly in socially and historically relevant regions.

The touring productions can be accompanied by workshops that invite audiences to explore the themes of transformation presented in the performances from new and critical perspectives. Collaborations with local institutions, universities and scholars further expand the project’s impact – extending the conversation far beyond the stage.
