POLYXENA

Female Voices of Troy

POLYXENA is a performing arts concert giving voice to the silenced women of war – from Troy to the present day. A journey through violence, survival and female resistance, inspired by Homer, Euripides, Ovid and the many voices that followed.

Fox On Ice revisits the enduring myth of Troy: a civilisation destroyed by a cruel and childish war that shattered its political, public, private and religious foundations.

The women whose voices and perspectives have so often been overlooked or silenced reclaim their place in the story through songs, images, scenes and narratives – creating a vital outcry against the incomprehensible stupidity of war – a seemingly ineradicable human perversion.

POLYXENA combines cinema, theatre, literature and alternative rock music. The performance creates a sensual interplay of stage and screen, voice and body, myth and music – an immersive encounter with an ancient story that remains disturbingly present. Its themes also provide a starting point for public discourse and formats of applied humanities.

POLYXENA premiered in August 2026 in Troy/Çanakkale, Türkiye. The production is touring internationally, with performances in countries including Türkiye, Greece, Romania, Moldova, Germany, Austria and India.
