A Cinematic Music Show based on Homer’s Iliad.
From a female but also cross-gender standpoint, we perform Homer’s most influential poem about the senseless destruction of the city of Troy by a cruel and childish war that destroyed the principles of a civilisation’s political, public, private and religious achievements.
In this contemporary music performance, the overlooked and unheard women regain their voices and perspectives in songs, images, scenes and narratives, creating a vital outcry against the incomprehensible stupidity of a seemingly ineradicable perversion: war.
The show combines elements of cinema, theatre, literature and contemporary music and provides a framework of public formats of applied humanities. POLYXENA offers a sensual crossing of stage and screen, voice and body, myth and music.
The premiere of POLYXENA will take place on 13 August 2026 in Troy/Çanakkale (Turkey).
